ARABIC-THE MIRACULOUS ARRANGEMENT OF WORDS IN THE HOLY QUR’AN: AN ANALYTICAL STUDY

Abstract

This paper examines the miraculous composition of words in the Holy Quran, and the paper focuses on the rhetorical, exegetical, and pedagogical aspects. The Quranic organization is unlike that of a regular text in that the order of words could be a style element, but in the Quran, there is a divinely predetermined system of the arrangement of words and meanings is interwoven with the form, as well as meaning, on an unparalleled level. Rhetorically, the paper shows how the arrangement of words in the Quran creates harmony, rhythm, and eloquence that is beyond the capability of human beings to create. Exegetically, it demonstrates that the order takes the interpreter through the precise meanings, subtleties and meanings of the text that would have otherwise been hidden. Pedagogically, the study can find out how this order imparts moral and spiritual awareness upon the believer, and how it ingrains everlasting truths and values in the human soul. Through this contemplation, the faith of the subject in the revelation is strengthened, and the intellectual and spiritual levels of interpreting the Quran are widened indefinitely.
